LMSW Clinical Supervision

Held in-person in Austin, TX or Virtually

I view clinical supervision as a fluid and ongoing process that extends beyond our scheduled supervision hours and into your personal journey. I aim to equip you with confidence and clarity for your direct work with clients. Social Work is a broad field and I welcome LMSWs who are interested in diving all the way into this process which can be vulnerable and challenging, at times, when processing internal or external struggles you come across in your work (and let’s be real - there are a lot of these moments in this career).

Supervision can be a space for you to process difficult clinical situations, questions about ethical matters, exploring your parts that are revealed through this work, to find encouragement and support in times where you really need it, to be challenged, and to grow as a clinician. Everyone has a different learning style and I treat supervision as I treat my work with clients; with a strong emphasis on our relational experience together as it is very important for us to have a mutually trusting relationship. My supervision style is heavily influenced by my education and training in culturally-informed supervision, Interpersonal Neurobiology, attachment models, and psychodynamic approaches, while integrating my relational and direct style.

I had three supervisors while obtaining my clinical hours and experienced three entirely different approaches to this process. I would classify some as unhelpful and some as very goal-oriented (aka, “test prep”). Overall, I learned what was valuable and what I could have done without. Each of those experiences have contributed to how I conduct clinical supervision within my practice.

What you get:

  • Peer support from other LMSWs in the Austin area in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space (hello, networking!).

  • Case-consultation of real-life clinical application and processing of ethical challenges you may experience in your work, issues related to countertransference, client crises, and beyond.

  • In-depth review of the Code of Ethics and DSM-5R which are major areas of focus on the ASWB licensure exam.

  • Guidance on the licensure process, including documentation requirements and processing of paperwork.

  • Two group supervisions each month and one individual supervision session each month.

  • Gentleness, directness, and availability for your needs as you grow in your clinical work. I provide honest feedback from a relational framework throughout our work together.
